Lost Short Round Surfboard Review
So, the Lost Short Round is another tweek to the Lost Rocket series. I rate this board as Pretty Bitchin' 'cause although it is a radical shredder of a board, it might be a little too persnickety for some newcomers. It can be a little unforgiving and in the wrong conditions, the rails tend to catch. You need to know where to place your feet. If you are not on your game, you may get dumped off. It took me a few waves to find it's sweet spot. I started out with a quad set-up plus the trailer fin at the suggestion of the salesman but, for me, at this length, it was way to stiff. I took the trailer fin off and rode it as a quad and then I started having some fun. This board is fast. I also noticed that if it is choppy, the super flat nose rocker combined with the pulled in nose made the nose dig under the water and slow me down when paddling for waves... So, this board prefers glassy days... It has a radical deep concave through the center, a low rocker and wide nose for paddling, a fairly flat tail rocker for control in the pocket and rounded squash tail for tight turns... For me, man this board works well in stomach to head high surf. It prefers a steeper face and hollower waves. Under the right conditions, this board is fast and precise. I use it for those middle sized beach break days when the tide is a little lower and I need the power of that deep concave to keep me hugged to the pocket when it gets steep... Shred 'till You're Dead!
